U.S. - Guatemala Immigration Agreement Considerations

While I don't agree with a lot of what Chris Farrell says, the subject is very serious. Those of us know Guatemalan history are well aware that "the civil war" in Guatemala was a result of U.S. actions (initially in support of United Fruit). Chris doesn't talk about that. But, he does point out some serious concerns about this agreement.

Related but not covered is the impact of the already signed agreement is that it makes Guatemala as the staging area for people from south of Guatemala seeking asylum in the U.S. There are already quite a few people here from Honduras. This agreement will certainly increase these numbers. Will this become a security issue for Guatemala?
