Will Food Diversity Improve Over Time

Growing up in Los Angeles food diversity mostly meant you could find Mexican restaurants, pizzas and Chinese restaurants. Fast foods were, of course, taking a chunk out of the market. But, nothing else very interesting.

Later (and once I moved to Seattle) Japanese choices, Thai and even some interesting specialties including fish, vegetarian, Indian and even Vegan got into the market. By the time I left Seattle (early 2002) there were some pretty amazing food choices.

What are the chances that Guatemala City will become as diverse as Seattle?
